Welcome
Greetings Flansters,
Welcome to the first blog post for our new website! This space will be your one stop shop for all things Flannelettes.
We aim to circumvent some of the algorithmic angst of social media by communicating directly here as much as possible, so feel free to check back in regularly.
On this site you’ll find the kind of stuff you could expect from any respectable band website circa 1999, ie. gig dates, bios, photos and merch (sorry, there’s no chat room.. you’ll have to cyber elsewhere). And please do yourself a massive favour and take a moment to sign up to our newsletter (at the bottom of the home page) for exclusive content and important updates.
Blog vibes - I have every intention at this stage of turning this blog into the personal diary I’ve always aspired to keep, but never have. If random tangents, over-sharing and a musician tearing down the private, mysterious barriers of their creative process is your kind of thing, then please make sure to check back regularly. I got a lot of stuff going through my head and you’re gonna read all about it!
Finally Thank you. It is a privilege to be alive, to be able to make music and to share time and space with you. There’s an infinite world of stuff vying for your finite time and attention, and it means the world to us that you have chosen to spend some of that finite time and attention on visiting this page. We hope you get something out of our music. We’d love to see you at a show, or meet you in person or online. If you know someone who might like what we do, bring em along. We’re here to take Australian country music to new, strange, familiar old places. So saddle up for the ride. Remember, don’t forget, it’s always a safe bet, if you’re wearing flannelette.
